About · The bloke behind the toolkit
Sole operator. Mandurah local. Trading since 2020. I built this business one job at a time — and that's still how I run it. One bloke, every block.
The short version
I'm John Jones — sole trader, registered as Mr Maintenance Mandurah. The ABN's been active since July 2020 (you might also know me from my previous trading name, JJ WA Services). I'm based in Mandurah, work across the Peel region, and I'm on every single job from the first knock to the last sweep-up.
I started this business because the trade was full of two extremes — “won't touch jobs under a grand” or “sorry mate, didn't turn up”. There's a gap in the middle for someone who turns up, quotes honestly, and does the job sharp. That's the gap I work in.
I'm not the cheapest bloke in town. I'm not the dearest either. What I am is the one who'll text you back the same day, give you a fixed scope, and stand behind the work after.
How I work
You shouldn't need a tradie's code of conduct. But here's mine anyway.

Scope is written down. Price is what we agreed. If something extra comes up mid-job, we talk before any extra goes on the bill.
Site cleaned, off-cuts taken, rubbish removed. Your house when I leave should look like I was never there — except the broken thing isn't broken anymore.

No call-out fee inside 30km of Mandurah. Further out we'd talk about a travel allowance up-front so there are no surprises.
Most quotes I can come and do within 24–48 hours. Job booking depends on the week — small fixes often same-week, bigger jobs a week or two out.
Yes, public liability insurance is in place. CONFIRM — I'm happy to send the certificate of currency on request before a job starts.
Small jobs are my bread and butter. The trick is to save them up — a half-day visit with five small fixes works out cheaper for you and easier to schedule for me than five separate trips.
Anything that legally requires a licensed electrician or plumber. I'll point you to a good one. Major structural work and roof replacements are out of scope — minor patches I can handle.
Same bloke, same ABN, same number. I registered Mr Maintenance Mandurah as a trading name in April 2026 because it tells people what I do and where I do it. Search engines find me a bit easier now too.
Yep — happy to work with landlords, property managers and tenants directly. I'll invoice the property manager and send photo-documented before/after for your file.
EFT transfer is easiest — invoice arrives the same day. Cash and card are also fine. Larger jobs may require a small deposit to lock in materials.
